affects biological activity :-
It is defined as arrangements of atoms and bond in three dimensional space. Two molecules may have same number of bonds, but different three dimensional arrangement.
◼️ Enantiomers :- Enantiomers are the molecules that have a chiral carbon atom and rotate the plane of polarised light. enantiomers may be defined as non super mirror impossible images of each others Enantiomers cannot be separated by chromatographic techniques unless chiral atmosphere is provided and conversion of inantiomers to diastereomers has been made they do not include compounds eith double bond.
◼️ Diastereomers :- Diastereomers include compounds with double bond and ring systems. Diastereomers exhibit different physiochemical properties like melting point, boiling point, solubility and chromatographic behaviour. Diastereomers can be separated by column chromatography.

◼️ Racemic mixture :- Most of the drug available in the market are in mixture of two or more isomer one isomer may show biological activity and other may not.

◼️ R and S configuration :- Cohn et. introduced a systems sequence rule based upon which the highest priority is given to the atom with highest atomic number and subsequent atoms are ranked accordingly from highest to lowest. when a decision can not be made regarding priority.
